Perception prevents consumers from using mature platforms in news ways. Meaning that Consumers don’t see Instagram as a marketplace, so they don’t go there when they need to shop. Inversely, Consumers don’t see Amazon as a place of discovery, so they don’t go there to find the cool, new trend. This presented us with an opportunity to disrupt the ecosystem. Commoditize authentic product video to erode what makes the incumbent platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) special. Then capture new value by creating a marketplace that can drive the entire purchase funnel on its own.
